Peer Buddy Grading Suggestions

We recommend that participating students be graded primarily on faithful attendance and a positive attitude. In addition, you may choose to incorporate some credit for writing assignments, including daily journal entries and possibly an occasional paper. (See ideas under Suggested Assignments).

Following is one possible grading system based on points awarded on a weekly basis. Under the following system, the student could earn a maximum of 100 points/week, and 600 points in the six-week grading period.

Sample Grading System

Daily Points:

10 points for attendance

     Weekly total: 10 X 5 days = 50 points

4 points for attitude

     Weekly total: 4 X 5 days = 20 points

Weekly Points:

10 points for weekly assignment or journal = 10 points

20 points for observation evaluation = 20 points

One week total possible points: 100 points

Six week total possible points: 600 points

Semester total possible points: 1800 points

This grading system was adapted from the LRE for Life Project
