Event DescriptionThis conference will focus on eight strands including one general inerest strand and seven in-depth strands addressing each of the following exceptionalities: Autism, Behaviour, Developmental Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Gifted, Physical and Multiple, and Vision and Hearing. The keynote speaker for this event will be psychiatrist, Dr. Alan Brown, of Oakville, Ontario who specializes in child, adolescent, and family psychiatry. Dr. Brown's presentation will focus upon the present understandings of the physical causes of autism, the rationales behind medication treatments, and the advantages and disadvantages of medications that are used. At the annual conference it is Ontario CEC's goal that the children of Ontario will directly benefit from the strategies, techniques, and information presented throughout the conference.
